Welcome old friends and new to the start of our school year! I am sure you've all had an exciting and relaxing summer break and I'm looking forward to hearing your news.
As always in Snowy Owls we have a busy term of learning ahead of us. We will be investigating the seasons and weather patterns through our geography work, science will see us finding out about different animals and their habitats, and we will explore the work and techniques of Paul Klee in art.
In maths we will become experts in place value and number skills, and hone these skills through problem solving. We will develop our reading, writing and grammar skills through our Read Write Inc. scheme, as well as delving into alternative fairy tale texts!
This term we will have PE lessons every Monday, develop our foundation sports skills with The ABC of Sport on a Thursday, and will be swimming at the Hydro every Friday.
Please regularly practise your SMIRFs (Space Mission Instant Recall Facts) targets and your common exception spellings, and of course enjoy reading at home too. 10 minutes of each as often as possible will have a huge impact on your learning!
